I finally struck... well, purple, after years of looking in a lot of wrong places.
That picture was unique enough to earn a spot in my Birding Scoops.
It was then and there I realized I should concentrate on marshes with spreads of fire aka alligator plants like in the image above. It’s an ideal refuge that provides ample food.
