Birds + Waterfowl around Bunche Beach - Terns and Black Skimmers, 1a of 8
The sequence of pictures at Bunche Beach dates from the middle of Nov. 2007, an hour
or so from the low tide. Black Skimmers, Terns and what-have-you showed themselves
agitated to worried... The Bald Eagle cruising above was certainly one from the ice cream
parlor
nest a few miles away. There were 3 actually. They didn't come in front of my lens close together for a family shot. I was told, and got to witness once or twice, that these eagles here, playful as their exercises may be, spell trouble indeed... Previously I had observed both,
birds and waterfowl, to react in panic, or waterfowl (in huge floats) to remain quite unruffled.
