Tricolored Herons, page 2

Photography is about subject and about light... The pictures
of these individuals were taken during the 3d week of May 2008, with the same camera
and lens, at two different
locations in SW Florida.
Due to a warm afternoon glow the lower image shows
a maximum of tri-color, almost
to the point of unreal.

The upper appears to be a male
in breeding plumage, while the 2nd one could be a female in its loud breeding colors.
