These 2 images have little to do with the actual story... Romanticizing of sorts, projecting
that the injured swan might have enjoyed a few seasons of purpose. Whether the 2 grown swans had ever been successful parents, I ignored. I learned that sometime during 2005
a bunch of kids had practiced their stone throwing skills at a group of swans in the park.
One died and one (our protagonist) ended up with a broken wing. Nothing was ever done to
help repair the damage. The injured bird did make it through the rather mild winter of 05-06...
It would seem doubtful however that mating and breeding could occur in such context.
