Images of American White Pelicans preening and socializing...
<Picture of a flock of Wjite Pelicans resting in shallow waters>
"Me Satchmo", or what..? Every time I look at this picture I am reminded of my lucky days when
I had the opportunity to attend live concerts with Louis Armstrong, amongst other Jazz Greats.
To rest, preen and socialize, American White Pelicans have a preference for shallow, often
shell covered sand banks, and islets away from human activity. Both photographs were taken
from a slow moving boat during winter time along the Gulf coast of Southwest Florida.
