American Robin birds, from breeding to fledgling... Photo report, page 3

Of all the nests built by American Robins the one in a rose bush
impressed me the most... Just think of how difficult it must have been for the breeding pair to negogiate their ins and outs, past those nasty thorns. On the other hand, the circumstance might
have added a degree of security,
especially from neighborhood cats.
The nest was situated barely 2 yards from the ground. Things evolved very quickly here. After some 8 or 9 days
only one lone chick, an omega,
if I remember correctly, remained.
The nest top right was a far more common one, placed much higher and
in a typical V-branch location.
